That phrase, "Under the weather" is a weird one if you ask me. Aren't we all technically "under the weather?" Doesn't weather typically come from the sky? Either way, I was definitely under the weather this weekend into Monday. I'll spare you the details, but it was bad enough to land me in the hospital for a good chunk of Sunday. I'm definitely feeling better now though, and I'm glad to be back in the studio. I find that it is pretty tough to get back into the swing of things though, especially after an unforeseen absence. I was unable to work ahead to get things taken care of for my day away and it is sometimes a little unnerving to come back and try and get my head back above water. Thankfully I work with the best people in the business and they have helped me out this week and before. So thanks everyone at KFIZ and our sister stations for making my transition back to my feet a smooth one!

Cereal: Food of Kings
I am a huge fan of cereal. Cold cereal, mind you. Not Cream of Wheat or Grape Nuts or anything like that. I'm talking Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Count Chocula, Frosted Flakes and Crispix. I love it all. My favorite cereals though have since been discontinued and I just found a cool article that goes through some of the popular discontinued brands. They do a nice job of covering quite of few of my favorites like Cinnimon Mini Buns and Dunkin' Donuts Cereal. However, they missed a few as well.
The original S'Mores Crunch cereal was amazing. Sure they've got a re-branding of the cereal, but it's nowhere near the quality of the first. It was like Golden Grahms has a child with chocolaty marshmallows to create the closest thing to having actual s'mores for breakfast. Pure genius.
The other one they missed was the re-make of Crispy Critters. The cereal originally tested poorly in the sixties and they re-branded it in 1987. I loved the commercials that had their character Crispy singing songs in the style of Jimmy Durante and had the weird yet catchy "Ah-Cha-Cha" trademark. Great cereal, great commercial.
I think in a former life I was a cereal pioneer, helping deliver the maximum amount of sugar into a child's meal before 8:00am.

Right now though, they're saying that it's just a tiny amount of the material, but they're hoping that it can eventually get larger so that it can cover military personel and vehicles. The material is manufactured to bend light to render objects invisible to the naked eye. It's being worked on at the University of California.
